The finalists for the 39th Offshore Achievement Awards (OAAs) have been announced, showcasing the innovation and leadership shaping the future of the energy industry.
Supported by principal sponsor Bilfinger for the second year running, the 2026 awards recognise excellence across the full energy spectrum — from field-proven technologies to outstanding individual achievement.
A key development this year is the introduction of a new Field Proven – Digital category, reflecting the growing impact of digital transformation across the offshore sector. The original Field Proven Technology award has been split into Field Proven – Technical and Field Proven – Digital to better recognise the volume and quality of digital innovation entries.
Graham Dallas, Chair of the Offshore Achievement Awards Committee, said the change highlights how quickly the industry is evolving: “The digital transformation of our industry is accelerating at an extraordinary pace. Creating a dedicated digital category ensures both technical and digital excellence receive the recognition they deserve.”
The Young Professional category also saw record interest, with eight candidates shortlisted to proceed to interview stage. A final group of three or four will be selected to compete for the award at the ceremony in March.
“The calibre of Young Professional entries has been truly remarkable,” Mr Dallas added. “The depth of talent and leadership on display gives real confidence in the future of the industry.”
Finalists span multiple categories including Emerging Technology, Sustainability, Collaboration, Skills Development, and Offshore Workplace of Choice, featuring companies such as OneSubsea, Harbour Energy, CNOOC International, Ithaca Energy, TAQA Well Completions, and Stillstrom by Maersk.
Bilfinger, principal sponsor for the second consecutive year, said the standard of submissions reflects the strength of the offshore sector.
Rod Agnew, Vice President of Offshore Services at Bilfinger UK, said: “These finalists represent the very best of offshore energy — from digital pioneers to inspiring young professionals. We look forward to celebrating their achievements in March.”
The 39th Offshore Achievement Awards ceremony will take place on 5 March 2026 at P&J Live in Aberdeen. The Significant Contribution Award will be announced on the night.
