Gastech 2018 launch conference brochure

Gastech, the leading exhibition and conference for the international gas, LNG and energy industries, has launched its conference brochure for this year’s event.

Taking place in Barcelona, Spain from 17-20 September 2018, the world-renowned conference has been regarded as the most significant meeting place for upstream, midstream and downstream gas and LNG professionals to convene, learn and do business for more than 45 years.

The conference and exhibition, which will be opened by senior representatives from the host consortia, will include four days of panel discussions and presentations from the industry’s key global leaders, addressing the most current gas and LNG issues, whilst also looking into 2019 and beyond.

The 2018 programme has been significantly expanded to encourage more debate, discussion and collaboration across the industry through a series of panels led by some of the industry’s key influencers and CEOs including Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, CEO, Qatar Petroleum, Maarten Wetselaar, integrated gas and new energies director and member of the executive committee, Royal Dutch Shell, and Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee, Gazprom.

Gastech features a multi-streamed conference with over 250 presentations by 350 speakers; a Plenary Stage, Strategic and Technical Conferences, a VIP Global Leaders’ Summit and four Specialist Conferences: Asia LNG Market Development Forum, LNG Trading and Procurement Forum, Diversity in Energy and Young Gastech.

Gavin Sutcliffe, Director of the Gastech Governing Body commented: “The conference will allow us to hear from government officials and industry bodies as well as discuss the financial and technological aspects of gas and LNG. It will also look to answer some of the key questions raised about the future of gas, in light of the recent shift towards renewables.”

Gastech 2018 will explore the new demand centres for gas focus, the challenges in the gas sector in Spain and beyond and many other issues including the burgeoning trading sector, project financing, the interplay between gas and renewable energy in power generation, project development, managing emissions and project financial risk management.
